Dactylorhiza praetermissa (Druce) Soó, Nom. Nov. Gen. Dactylorhiza: 5 (1962).

In 2011 a colony of a new type of the southern marsh orchid was discovered in the Netherlands. It is a rather unusual one as the whole plant is very compact and almost succulent. The flowers are non resupinate which means that the lip is pointed upwards.

A very interesting aspect of this colony is that it consists of many individuals and that these grow together with the normal type of the southern marsh orchid although there are no intermediate individuals.
