Epipactis helleborine subsp. neerlandica

Suddenly I had so many pictures of this species that I had to make a special album for it to keep things organized.

The subspecies neerlandica differs from the normal Epipactis helleborine mostly by the plant habit But also because the more or less cup shaped flowers are often more brightly coloured.

The subspecies is rare and only lives in coastal dunes. Here it can grow in full sun or in the shade of trees.
