Taken from Signal Hill. One of the prominent buildings visible and overlooking the city is “The Rooms” museum
(yellow walls and red roof) a short walk from the house we rented for our St. John’s stay. The name “Rooms”
refers to the entire, larger waterfront site from which typically the cod fishery was conducted, which includes
single shacks called “fishing stages.”
