Drifting through Life
Too often as we drift through life do we recognize and appreciate the important people and things around us...hurried and busy doing what we need to do...or think we need to do to satisfy our daily requirements. I clicked this balloon this morning through the sunroof of my vehicle and thought it was a great way to say thanks to all my family and friends for being there and offering words of support, hugs and smiles when you need them.
A special thanks to all of you...:)
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Mediterranean Blue
on our intended route south of Denia along the coast our road came to a dead end above a bluff...I jumped out to have a look and here is what I saw...Villas perched on the cliffs over the Mediterranean Sea.
Such a spectacular setting!!!

YAHOO!!
Okay, just barely back from my holiday and into our annual Calgary Stampede!!!
Calgarians befriend and host millions of out of town visitors treating them to
10 full days of flapjacks, parties, rodeo, chuckwagon races, rides and good ole fashion
western fun.
The city transforms with most everyone trading their suits and ties to blue jeans, boots
and other western wear!!!
HAPPY STAMPEDE EVERYONE!! YAHOO!

almost back
Hello my family and friends
today is our last day in Spain...we went for a little walk along the seawall in the town we are staying in about 30 km southwest of Barcelona.
tomorrow the long journey home from Barcelona, Munich, Toronto and finally home in Calgary
relaxed and ready to tackle the world
master of your own destiny
...hard to believe a year ago I took my first hand at the wheel of a sailboat...
on this Sunday, Father's Day I participate in my first Sailboat Race out of Valencia,
Spain!
To all my Pbase friends fear not as I will be gone for little while as my wife and I set off for a tour of sailing, business and just
good old fashioned touring.
Cheers and see you all in July with hopefully a host of interesting shots!
Take care my friends...until we meet again ;)))
Regards
Roger

funtimes
...during our short but intense summer one of the great passtimes
is to gather your friends, food and drink and float aimlessly down
the river toasting yourself with the sun's warm rays...it can be
downright busy some days but the fun of watching the colourful display
craft and people is always entertaining!

...snow survivor...
...summers finest...hard to believe that a week and a half ago all our
flowers were covered in 4 inches 10 cm of snow...amazingly they
all survived and with the recent hot weather are thriving...
wish everyone a wonderful Sunday!

a place to watch and think
the same hidden courtyard showing one of the many cast iron and steel stair cases that are typical of Montreal. This one caught my eye because of its black contrasting colour against the old stone and brick walls...the photo could have been from hundreds of years ago...except for the white plastic chair ;)
what a wonderful place to sit and meditate or people watch the tourists buying the crafts below.
26-MAY-2007
living wall
exploring one of the hidden courtyards in Le Vieux Port de Montreal, I came across an 18th century stone wall covered with ivy. Looking up the high wall the light from the sky above was shining through the leaves creating what seems to be a magical living wall.

market time
just finishing up here in Montreal and heading home after a fun and interesting
4 days...catch up with everyone tomorrow.

glass floor SP
...okay I got to stand on a glass floor 524 feet (165m) or about 52 storeys up over the street
this evening...
what a rush...
got easier after the first time but was having
trouble getting people to cooperate and pose for me
....so these are just my feet
would have preferred a lady with some nice classy colourful high heels though!
...the extra 3" would have made it much more dramatic!
;D
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend everyone!

sunrays
Was trying to emphasize these pink flowers with the setting sun and got some
halos on the lense. Tried PS to emphasize the highlights in my in-box. My take was
that they were too unatural.
20-MAY-2007
sensuality
okay, I've been watching everyone do macros of flowers for a while now...
so now its time to get serious and give it a try.

tirex titan
the area around Sparwood, BC is known for its enormous
open pit coal mines. This truck which still claims to be
one of the largest in the world stands as a tourist point
of interest in the town. To my knowledge the truck was only
in use for a very short time before its short comings were
discovered and it was retired!

prairie beacons
once the sign of prosperous farming communities the grain elevators of the canadian prairies are quickly dissappearing. The Town of Nanton, Alberta has chosen to save theirs. Newly painted and looking for tenants these buildings are saving the history of the area

In the desert, the contrast between life and death, dark and light, cold and hot to name a few are amazing. Here a Joshua Tree (Yucca Tree) in shadow is contrasted by the hot desert rocks behind in California.
