The Montara Lighthouse was originally located on Mayo Beach, Cape Cod. The Lighthouse was moved to Yerba Buena, California around 1925 and three years later was moved to Montara, California.

Standing only 30 feet tall, this lighthouse is about as short as they come by along the California Coastline. The Keeper's Dwelling has been renovated and is now operated by Hosteling International. A cheap getaway location with a great view of the Pacific!
