We arrived at Phoenix airport in early evening (local time) to be greeted by a temperature of over 100°F. The courtesey car arrived pronmptly after our call and whisked us back to the Days Inn hotel. I knew I was at home when I found both an old-fashioned juke box palying real 45rpm rock records and one of our very own "press button A" phone boxes in the retro-50s diner. The hosts arrived promptly the next morning and we loaded the car (a marvel in itself - more later), went to meet our other guest - Helen, a very young at heart lady from PA, who was flying in that morning. Her plane was almost on time. We loaded her luggage into the car (yet another feat, more later), and, following a luncheon stop, drove to our first destination, La Poseda Hotel at Winslow.
