On 24 May 1988, four remaining VUD- NF-5's at Gilze-Rijen went to nearby Woensdrecht for storage. The VUD ('Vliegend Uit Dienst', or 'flying retirement') aircraft were kept at Gilze-Rijen for over a year, making a testflight in clean configuration now and then. In May 1988 Woensdrecht became the location for final retirement without starting up the engines now and then.
Of the fleet gathered at Woensdrecht, several NF-5's went to Turkey. On 20 December 1991, K-3035 went to Turkey too as '3035'. K-3035 entered service in October 1970 and spent its entire career at Twente with 315 squadron. In June 1986 K-3035 went to Gilze-Rijen for operational storage under VUD.
