On July 1st, 1988, the NF-5 era ended at Twente when this special marked NF-5A K-3045 made the last flight for this type from that airbase. The left side of the tail of K-3045 showed gratitude towards the Dutch soccerteam winning the EC 1988, the right side was destined for a 'thank you' towards the NF-5 from 313sqdn. Three months later, K-3045 was pictured in open storage at Woensdrecht. It went to Turkey in 1990 (not airworthy) and was probably scrapped there for spare parts.
