Each MiG-29 regiment had some additional MiG-23UB trainers to back up the MiG-29UB's. 787IAP (Interceptor Regiment) showed its MiG-23UB 1310/22(r) on the day of departure to the motherland. The operational life of this and the unit's other few Floggers ended shortly after return. The MiG-23 was a typical Soviet jetfighter. Rough, solid, capable of operating under difficult circumstances and not very sophisticated.
