Aquileia is an ancient Roman city in Italy, at the head of the Adriatic. One of the largest and wealthiest cities of the Early Roman Empire, was destroyed by Attila in the mid-5th century.
Founded by the Romans in 181 BC and declared UNESCO World Heritage Site.
