A trip to Yuba Pass and Sierra Valley. This was a guided trip led by Les Chibana.
Lisa and I got five life birds on the trip: Black-backed Woodpecker, White-headed Woodpecker, Williamson's Sapsucker, Evening Grosbeak, Pine Grosbeak.
Since we don't keep a list these may have been life birds too : Cassin's Finch, Calliope Hummingbird, Townsend's Solitaire.
I photographed 33 species on the trip. 19 of these were species that I had not photographed before. This brings the total number of species in my photo bird list to 221.
There is more detailed text for a lot of the pictures. Click on a thumbnail for a larger photo and scroll down for the text, location etc. You can also select medium or large on the photo page and it will remember it for subsequent photos.
Thank you Rob for sharing your photos of Yuba Pass. What a great trip! I went to Yosemite and Mono Lake this past weekend and saw many of the same birds. Isn't that beautiful country? Thanks again. Hi to Lisa. Eileen
