This year we had the coldest weather since 1997.
The official cold wave took almost 2 weeks and the average temperature in the first decade of february was -7 C which is 10 degrees below average for that period.

The Dutch really enjoy this kind of frosty weather because all the canals and lakes freeze and half of the population start skating which is a Dutch tradition for sure.
Almost everybody looks happier and more cheerful than normal. In this gallery I try to show something of this "fun on ice".
