My trip to support England in 1970 World Cup

In 1966 as a 16 year old schoolboy I bought a ticket package for all England's group games plus the quarter final involving the winner of England's group. I received a letter in the post saying I had won a ballot and was offered and accepted a ticket for the 1966 final of England v West Germany. When Germany equalised I decided that if England won I would go to Mexico to see them defend the title. I discovered a few old slides in an ottoman in 2007 and converted them into a CD. Possibly a wasted photographic opportunity but it is great to still have them.

Im Chris Rose and hitched to Mexico in 1970, broke, I slept in Hilton lobby and swam in pool, got into every game without ticket even final in Mexico City. With Snipe we got on a flight home with no ticket landing in Stanstead still broke, we said goodbye and Ive never seen him since! Good trip
