Autumn leaves can be enjoyed in various ways in Japan. During the early phase of the autumn season, the colors are mostly found in the mountains where entire slopes turn orange, yellow and red, and provide some of the most amazing seasonal sceneries. Hiking is the most rewarding way to see the colorful leaves in the mountains, but many spots can also be conveniently reached by train, bus or ropeway. In the second phase of the autumn leaf season, the colors descend into Japan's cities, where they can be viewed in parks and gardens.

There were 33 of us on this tour from Hong Kong. We did not know one another when we started out but got to know one another better as the days went by. We arrived in Nagoya first and moved gradually toward Tokyo over 5 days and four nights. Weather was ranging from sunny to showers in the day to torrential downpour on the final night when we reached Tokyo. The galleries are arranged in the order of our itinerary.

All in all, it was a enjoyable trip and Japan in the autumn was beautiful.
