The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Completed in 1883, it connects the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. At 5,989 feet (1825 m),it was the longest suspension bridge in the world from its opening until 1903, and the first steel-wire suspension bridge. I walked this bridge around noon time from NYC to Brooklyn. The weather was sunny when I started so I thoght I should take my time. I got hungy after the walk and the family could not resist the temptation of the famed Grimaldi's coal fire oven pizza that every guide book listed as a must try while in Brooklyn. The experience was well worth the 30 min wait and the restaurant was full of visitors with Sinatra's photos lining the wall. The weather took a sudden change just after lunch and I barely managed to take some photos before rain fall. I wished I had caught the sunset instead, but weather being what it is in NYC, one must not be greedy. I hope to do the sunset one day.
