Morro Bay California and the surrounding area get some large waves every winter. When those larger storm swells combine with stiff offshore winds,
the result is very picturesque, but ridable waves for surfers who don't mind taking off down a 15-20 foot face.
(Which is why I was behind a camera instead of on a surfboard 8^)
