Noreen and I took a detour on the way home from Edinburgh, following our Mother's Day visit, to see my Mum.
We stopped at the photogenic Gladhouse Reservoir, situated in the shadow of the Moorfoot Hills, to the south of Edinburgh. Gladhouse is one of a network of reservoirs supplying Edinburgh with water.
Gladhouse is the largest body of freshwater in the Lothians. Stocked with brown trout, the reservoir is popular with anglers (and photographers!!!).
It is also designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is internationally significant as a winter roost for thousands of pink-footed geese.
