Beautiful work.Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed a vist to your galleries. Lots of fine images, great work!
wonderful gallery, your pictures are fantastic, you are on my preferite photographer.
Hi Roberta, I want to thank you for your recent favor and live up to my promise! As you know, I've been an admirer of your photos in these galleries for half a decade. You are in my favorites, so I keep a tab on your photography endeavors, even if I don't leave a lot of comments (sadly, my time for photography and pbase is very limited these days).
Hi, Roberta, great images here indeed.
Roberta, thanks for the comment on my "low tide" photo. You have an amazing collection of fine shots, good eye.
Thanks, for the comment. You have an amazing gallery here!!!
Thank you Roberta for being the first to welcome me to pbase - it meant a lot... I visit your galleries often and find it difficult to pick favorites as so very many images are exceptional. I love the clarity, the colors, as well as the mood and humanity of your work. Thanks again ... I will keep visiting and learning.
Wonderful collection of images roberta! Love the variety of subjects.
Thank you for your kind words on my daughter's art gallery. Your images are so beautiful.
Your galleries are just wonderful. I could get lost in them. Your cat photos are especially lovely.
Thanks for your comments too.
Thanks Roberta for the good time and fun watching your photos.
thanks for the nice comments Roberta, especially coming from someone with such amazing galleries. I might try to enlarge the dogwood tonight.
Your galleries are first rate!
Wonderful galleries, added to my favorites.
I posted some pictures about the lighting on my
macro & close-up shots in the end of gallery. Enjoy it and thank you again.
It is a great honor for me to have nice comments from you. You are one of my favorites photographers years ago.
Thanks for the comments it means a lot coming from you!! respect ;-)
Thanks for posting the pics of the toploader 75 bag. Im desperately searching for a holster bag for a 10d with 300mm IS and 1.4 converter. Considering the Topload AW or the Toploader 75 aw. i live in a remote place so trying is not an option...
browsed a bit through your galleries as well, and you have a great talent! quite a collection you have here. nice personal pictures! keep up the good work
all the best,

Yes. Prints ordered of the party! I did a 11x14 BW of Jane (the mother) holding Logan (the little boy) after blurring and burning the distractions in the background. I was very pleased how it turned out with the new Epson on mat.
I think I'm coming out of my winter funk!
Roberta - Not sure why I have missed your galleries up to this point, but you are now book marked for many return visits. When I see your work I wish I was not so one dimensional. What a great variety of images you have. As a landscape photographer I like your landscape work very much and suspect you would find mine "garish" by comparison. I was curious about your Sigma 15mm lens. Is that fixed or a zoom and if the latter does the front element turn as you focus? And isn't great to have a creative daughter like yours. She has some outstanding images. I wish mine would get her web site up so people could see her work (and I could brag about it ;-)
Also I see you have been to Sedona, so maybe some of my "garish" images may be of interest to you. Congratulations on a fine, fine collection of work. I will return often to see what is new. Fred PS Used to go to Lake George many many years ago when in college in VT, so enjoyed those pictues as well.
Awesome! Awesome! Awsome! I have your gallery in my favorites.
Fantastic work! All your galleries are so inspiring. Got my vote :-)
Thanks for visiting my galleries. I thoroughly enjoyed yours. You have an amazing collection of photos.
Roberta, your pictures are fantastic and so awe inspiring. Whenever I feel down i just check out your gallery for Instant inspiration. Keep up the great work. I aspire to capture imagery like you :-)
I just spend a long time enjoying your recent images.
They are fantastic and you are going from strength to stength, well done.
Enjoy that new camera and lens.
Hi Roberta! I have just found your photo albums and am in awe of your work. Could you share what parameters you use for your wildlife photos with us? If not, I understand. I just got the Canon 10D and my images have not been near as crisp as yours! Sincerely, Kathy
discovered you galleries today and spent wonderful time looking though your images.
Great high quality work, many compliments!
Honestly I'm a tad intimidated by your work.
So many beautiful images.
You have excellent technique and a wonderful eye.
There's a lot I can learn here.
Thanks for sharing.
Roberta, Bravo! I am so glad that I chose a Great lens too! 100mm f/2.8, with my 20D, was scared at first? Do I really need an "L" series? Wanting next the 17-85 f/4-5.6 is usm, Please tell me if this is a good choice. I Value Your Opinion as I Value Your Great Pictures!
Beautiful photographs. I was wondering if you could provide any tips for getting the most out of the SD300? What you've done with that camera is amazing.
Your technical ability is matched only by your inspirational creativity!
Thank you Roberta.
Your galery brings humility...
Your images are so sharp and coulorfull.
Thanks for sharing and keep posting.
Those frames sure add a nice impact.
Thank you for sharing your brilliant images.
I really love your shots.
I'm from Korea and studying applied photography at a college in Canada.
I think your images have kinds of power to be great regardless of the nationalities.
The best photo collection I've seen yet online! Your personal favorites were amazing too. Thanks for sharing such wonderful work.
Hi Roberta, im pleasured with your photos, they are excellent!

Roberta, can I make a request? is it possible for you to upload your photos in a larger format it seems IMHO that I would appreciate more of your talent! Thanks!
Hi Mrs.Fair i Just was looking at your site and the photograph is AMAZING i think you are an awsome artist and photographer and a great teacher!
Roberta, you are on my favourite list! As a newcomer on this site I invite you to look my portfolio. Thanks!
I am curious how much work you had to do to the picture after it was taken to get them to look so good. Are you adjusting the contrast and colors and what other type of modification are needed. Do you use Photoshop?
Thanks for showing us what's possible with the Canon 10D. Your pictures are great.
Kaitlyn De Angelis
Dear Mrs. Fair,
I'd like to congratulate you on your great photography. You definately deserve a great big round of applause! A few of my favorites were when you put Jessie in the jar and when you took the Phat Cats at the gym picture. Another one was when you put Jill on the gameboard. Those were all cool! Thank you for sharing with me and keep up the great work. See you next week! Your student, Kaitlyn De Angelis
Wow!!! very nice photos
I like them
Roberta, I love your galleries. I love the subjects you choose, the color, composition and crispness you have with most of your photos. Thank you so much for sharing. I have learned much just from viewing them. Diane
WOW! I love your work. You make me jealous, but now I have something to strive for. I have already begun to imitate your border after the comment you left on my "Ebony Eyes" from CSLR Challeng #21. Congratulations.
Thanks for dropping by and your kind comments. You have a great eye for color and composition and it shows in your photographs.
Thankyou for your comment on my picture Roberta, you have some wonderful pictures in your galleries and I enjoyed browsing through them.

I fell upon your Corning pictures - and fell in love with them.
I must say you have wonderfully exquisite photographs on this site. I love them all! You have an amazing gift and I am pround to call you my MOMMY !
Love your daughter
I stumbled onto your pbase archive while doing research on digital SLRs (Mainly the 10D). I am simply in awe of your work with the 717 & 10D, your photos are amazing. You have inspired me to pick up the Sony 717 which I did last weekend and really enjoy the camera. I expect to buy the 10D sometime in the future as well.
I really like the frames you have put around your photographs and was wondering what you were using to create the effect? If you could let me know it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Hi Roberta, I haven't been back here for quite sometime, and now i can see you have added alot more great pictures. Truely impressed! Q i have is, where do you find yourself so much time photographing? :) I can barely ditch my kids and the wife to enjoy photography! Anyhow, thanks for your comments, your pictures are wonderful, superb colors and compositions!
Very, very impressive site. I wish I could afford that 100-400. Keep up the great work!
Love you pictures like anybody. I have a Canon D10 but can not get these fantastic colors and sharpening. Can you give me some tips how to do these?
Soorry to bother, I understand you should had give this answer so many times.
Great Gallery....Like your picture taken by 17-40L. I have a question....Do you use external disc to get the correct light exposure? I thiught I saw a mention of this disc somewhere in your discussion....it is called Superdisc...or something like that. If you have info on it can you please send it to me. Also I like the way you frame the pictures can you tell me "how to do it in PhotoShop CS.

I love your pictures! I am planning a trip to Spain at the end of May and I am shopping around for an internet album to post my pictures when I return. How do you like using PBase and how do you create the borders? Is there an automated process through PBase? Please respond at your earliest convenience.
Roberta are you in South Florida? I lost a striped cat 2 years ago and that kitty Meika looks exactly like him.
Your pictures are so beautiful! I am currently camera shopping and have narrowed my choice to the Sony F717. Your gallery helped me make that decission! I would love to own the Canon 10D, however, the Sony is more in my price range at this time. Could you please tell me if the Sony is capable of those awesome sports pictures you took in your soccer gallery?
Looking forward to more photos,
Beautiful pics here.
I especially like Windows, Personal fav & Sunflowers.
I was also impressed by the A80 gallery. Good to know you can do really good pictures with this camera. I'm planning to buy one for sports (ski, scuba, roller) when my 300D + zooms + battery grip is way too heavy.
Red Lion Inn, Lenox Ma, and others, brings back memories of my 10 yrs in New England. 91 to 2001, wish I had my 10d then. Oh well, in Calif with 10D...thanks for sharing
Very nice collection of work here! Hats of to you!
Your gallery is an inspiration.
oooh...colorful images! superb work. How did you find time to take all these shots? =)
Very nice collection of work here! Hats of to you!
When I find galleries like yours, I not only miss my lectures but also eating, drinking and sleeping! You are now on my favourit artists list so I might as well throw away all dreams of ever graduating=) For the past half an hour I have strolled through your pictures(while listening to Sting) and I have come to the conclusion that life could be quite a lot worse. Good music and your galleries put together is something I will recommend to everyone who needs relaxation. Thank you a million for sharing your pictures. These are shots that I will come back to over and over again.
Regards, Lasse(Kuopio, Finland)
Hello, I enjoyed your photos.Thx for sharing. :)
Dear Roberta,Thank you for the color tutorial and your demonstrably equisite use of color in your galleries.I am a novice and this is my initiation with a digital slr.Your work is an inspiration to try to progress further. My so-so work craving instruction, correction and improvement is at Pbase.com/cactusklaw. I live in the desert near Alberquerque New Mexico.Dry and wonderful cultural mosaic of some of the best in American life. Best Alan
Beautiful work here, just wanted to let know what you already know, this is very inspiring. Enjoyed my visit.
Hey Roberta, I keep on coming back to check your pics, they are so wonderful! You are the reason I bought the 100mm & the 28-135mm. The 100mm I am enthralled with, but the 28-135mm I must say a little disappointed. Perhaps I just haven't had the opportunity to take some great pics, very dark & gloomy here. The 70-200 4f is next on my list, can't wait for that one.
I finally got a pbase account, check out my site when you get chance by clicking on my name.
Thanks for the inspiration. I posted you as one of my favs!
The way you compose the picture and the use of natural light really make each of your pictures special. Very inspiring stuff.
I was happy to read your comments, I highly value your opinion because you are extremely talented and your galleries are delightful.
I have already voted for a couple of them, of course for your windows, since it's a favourite subject of mine too...:^))
All your future suggestions will be extremely welcome.
Great photos. Could you tell me who to contact about renting or buying costumes, props, etc. for 42nd Street. Our Middle School is doing it in May. I am located in Tiburon, CA.
Love your work..........I've added you to my favorites.
Nice works!!! I love them all the way!
Great work Roberta. You have made the 10D shine!
Loved your gallery of Windows. Aren't they such a beautiful subject.
Here is one lonely window one mine:
. Do visit.
Hi Roberta. Your images are stunning, and the colors really vibrant. Are you using one of Fred Miranda's actions on some of your shots? Your photos really pop - I've seen similar effects using the FM Velvia action. Seeing your gallery reminded me it's time to visit the FM site again & download the velvia. LOVE your cat pics! (love 'em all, actually!).
Roberta, is it possible to license one of your photos?
I've been admiring your wonderful gallery of images which I found in a post you made in a dpreview forum. Wonderful photos and processing!
One thing I came across in your gallery that I wanted to ask about was a post someone made about creating a collage from several soccer photos. I do a lot of soccer photography and would like to create a collage also, and I'm curious to see what that person came up with and perhaps get some ideas or tips on creating something similar. If you have any information to share or could pass my request on to this person, I would appreciate it. (send to email@example.com)
Thanks, and keep up the great work.
Thanx for visiting my webpage & ur kind words :)
U too have exellent pictures here ....wud also like to invite u to join www.iopc.info (I run this club )
One word- WOW. Excellent pictures.
Hi Roberta! Thank you very much for your kind words you wrote me about my photo of the swan!!! I appreciated your comment!!! You have so many wonderful albums!!! Thank you very much for sharing!!! God bless you, Erik from Switzerland
Thanks for the inspiration. Great work.
Love your work, especially the macro flower shots. I am into that too, check out some of my work & let me know what you think. Maybe we can collaborate.
Do you use any editing on your pics?
Love your work. Which camera is your favorite?
We have some stuff at pbase/hiker/photograph/
Your work is terrific overall, but I'm especially partial to your IR/B&W gallery. Wonderful stuff. Cheers!
Roberta, your images are phenomenal! Your technical ability is first rate. But your eye for composition is, well... I am humbled.
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org......re your offer to forward info from Canon EOS forum
on Image Resourcing, #2201, dated Oct.18. (Steps in Photoshop Elements 2.0) Thank
Love the finished results your getting Roberta! Had my 10D for a week now and i'm loving it. Would love to hear any thoughts you have on workflow for this camera. I've already had a play with RAW images using CaptureOne and RAW seems a nice way to go, but would like to hear your thoughts on this! What do you use?! And can you recommend anything else in terms of sharpening, colour correcting, resizing etc?!
Well, anyways, keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for leaving a note on one of my pictures, I'm flattered! You have such talent, your images are not only well composed, but your technical abilities shine - a dynamite combination!
Your pictures are beautiful, the colors, the subjects! You may have me steered towards a Canon 10D. I'm upgrading from a Fuji 2.1 megapixel. Absolutely beautiful work.
You take wonderful pictures! I just love the ones you have taken of your cat Meika(sp?) Really an excellent job of capturing the inner beauty of an animal. Rob
Roberta- I love your photo's- beautiful composition-angles- lighting-etc. There are quite a few of your landscape photo's that would make wonderful watercolor paintings. I didn't know that you were such an accomplished photographer. Thanks for sending the address so we coould view your galleries.
Maurice Burke Photography
Many thanks for taking the time to leave comments on several of my images the other day. You found two of my favorites actually. Roberta, your galleries are filled with oustanding images and I would be hard pressed to pick favorites. Simply put, your work is astounding and very inspiring! Thank you again for stopping by...Maurice
I enjoy looking at your photos. You've done a great job!
As you have used the Sony F717 and Sony 10D quite extensively, I would like to get your thoughts about these cameras ... and what do you think about the new F828 and 300D?
I shoot with a Sony F707, mostly in low light and often with underexposure, and I am not too happy about the noise level, and thinking about upgrading to either the F828 or 300D ... or even the 10D.
You can either post your reply here or email me privately. Thanks much!
I tried using my 58mm Hoya R72 and the 8x neutral density filter on my Canon 100mm macro for infrared shots with poor success. The pics were very grainy. I recently read that the focusing can be tricky. I will have to read up on it and try again. The Sony 717 is so great for IR that I've been lazy and I just grab the 717. My suggestion would be to go to dpreview.com to the 10D forum. Do a search on infrared and you will find quite a few discussions. Hope you can find what you need.
Love your infrared photos. I notice you have not yet used your Canon 10D in this mode. What filter do you think would be appropriate for this camera. I'm planning a special shoot next week and would like to experiment with this technique. Any advise you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
You have excellent pictures. I have a 10D myself with 28-200 f3.5 and a 20-35 f3.5. Still in the mode of exploring.
Hope you can disclose some ideas on: RAW or JPEG, what kind of filters you use, what kind of after finishing do you use...etc.
Looks that you are an expert in making rught pictures, but also knowing how to deal with "photoshop".
Thanks in advance for sharing,
Tao Chun Liu
I like every pictures of yours.
Your pictures are truely amazing.
I just browesed trough your galleries and I have to say I find them really amazing! You have managed to creat ordinary shot to something really special. Right now I'm thinking of your cat shots. There's nothing worse than people showing of their shots of their cats! I hate it, it's so boring. But your shots stand out from the rest. Your photos are much more photographs than family snapshots. Thanks for your great galleries! Take a look at my galleries if you want!
I recently bought a 10D prior to finding the 10D discussion forum. In it I have viewed all your contributions to the forum and also the pbase site. I just wanted to let you know I bought a few lenses from onecall and gave the referral to you. Hope you don't mind.
I work overseas mostly and currently I am in Houston doing the front end planning for a large construction job in Equatorial Guinea. It is a beautiful, but very primitive country without any shops of any kind. So I have to buy all the camera equipment necessary before going. I now have the 10D with a 28-135 IS, 300 F4L IS, 70-200 F2.8L IS, Canon 16-35 F2.8L, 100 F2.8 Macro, and the 550EX flash unit. All of these are Canon lenses and I should be set up for just about anything in Africa. My wife is an avid birder and we have spent 28 years overseas birding. I may get the very expensive 600mm lenses from Canon before I go over there. it is about 10 grand so I am waiting a while for that one.
I am able to read the posts on the forum but haven't had time to take part because we are working many hours a week trying to get everything done by end of September. When you work 90 hours a week there are many opportunities for picture taking, although I took some during a lunch hour with the 300 and the 28-135 and they were pretty good.
Just wanted to let you know about the referral in case you were wondering who I was.
You have a wonderful eye for everything photographic and I am very impressed.
Fantastic work, I really love your use of so many colors!! I own a 717 myself and I'm still learning the capabilities of the camera. How did you put those beautiful boarders around your photos, I'd love to do the same for mine! I'd appreciate your response. :) Please view my gallery, I'd like your opinions!
Your pictures are so good!! I enjoyed seeing them. Have a great time collecting more and more on your adventures this summer!! God Bless...
Enjoyed visiting your galleries...especially the 42nd St. photos. Thanks for your kind comment about my Rose Painting!
Excellent work in your galleries Roberta.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on my Halifax gallery Roberta. I took a lengthy
run through your galleries, I thoroughly enjoyed your ir work & I'm sooo jealous of your new 10d... ;-)
Thanks for the nice comment! For post processing I usually check levels in PhotoShop 6.0...sometimes I do auto levels, sometimes I use the eyedropper tool to choose the white point and the black point. I use USM and just play around with it to sharpen the image. I setup a few different actions in PhotoShop but many times I do the images one at a time. I add a duplicate layer, change the canvas size to add a white border, then add a drop shadow. I save the full file as a PhotoShop file, then as a full size jpeg. Then I reduce the image size for pbase. I usually do an unsharp mask again after reducing the size. Sometimes I use burning and dodging and curves adjustments...just depends on the image. Hope this helps! Stop by to visit again! BTW, I shoot fine jpeg right now. I haven't tried raw yet. Roberta <><
I just ordered a 10D with the 28-135 IS....your pictures are really beautiful.... what kind of post processing do you do. Is there any routine you follow for all your shots?
also,, do you capture in jpeg or RAW modes?
Hi Mrs. Fair! My sister Natalie (who you have for art) just showed me this website... and I think your photography is excellent! Anyways, everything in the Middle School is going great.. I can't believe it's the end of the year already! ( :( time for finals!).. well all of my teachers are great, my classes are interesting, and everything is just extrordinary (not to mention my report card). even though this was last year, I can't thank you enough for submitting my artwork which appeared on the front of this years' school calendar! thank you so much PTO! I hope to visit you in the intermediate school sometime soon. Bye! *~Katrina~*
Infrared advise needed
I have a new Canon A70 camera. The filter I am using is a Tiffin #87 filter. It is black, and sees only IR light.
The results I am getting are very Infrared, indeed, but the focus is crap. How is it your pics are so sharp? I know the G1 does great IR...but still.....
Could it be the filter I am using is too much for the camera? I am going to get a r72 filter also.
Any ideas on how to focus? What do you do?
I really enjoy your photography.
I have been shooting with a Sony F717 and thinking of moving to a Canon 10D, love to talk with you about many things about the camera and also see how you feel with yours.
Please email me if you get a chance.
Looking forward to speaking with you.
I thought your pictures were GREAT!I really liked the pictures of your cats.I'm also in Miss Sierra's class. I'll see you on Friday.
