Granada
Sometimes you arrive somewhere you've been before, but the similarities to the previous visit are so few that it's not really a trip down memory lane. I'd always remembered Granada as a beautiful city with a vibrant night life and I would still describe in the same way. What was different was that I was seeing the place as a tourist for the first time.

Buenos Aires
A country far away, with friendly locals and a taste of Latin America. With only 2 weeks free before starting my new job, I thought I'd choose a South American city in which squeeze in a few language classes before the routine of work kicked in once more.
Often described as the most European of South America's cities, i found Buenos Aires briming with life - from street tango in San Telmo, shopping in Centro and bars in Palermo - there really is a taste of everything in this city. And no, 2 weeks is far from enough.

Uruguay
Just a 3 hour boat ride (or a 1 hour express ferry trip) from Buenos Aires is the beautiful city of Colonia del Sacramento. As the name suggests it's an old spanish colonial city. It's been pretty much preserved in time and is now a tourist stop off between Buenos Aires and Montevideo. We spent a day wondering around the cobbled streets and little cafes.
