The following few photos were taken on the way to Kykotsmovi to visit a friend. In studying a map later this road would have been an interesting way to head to Gallup, NM. However, if you were to consider this make sure your tank is full before you start as there are very few gas stations.
Kykotsmovi Village (Hopi: Kiqötsmovi, affectionately known as K-Town) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Navajo County, Arizona, and the home of the Hopi tribal government. The population was 776 at the 2000 census. The village was founded after an internal Hopi dispute in Oraibi in 1906 concerning how to interact with missionaries and federal agents and programs. Kykotsmovi is sometimes referred to as Oraibi or New Oraibi. There is no photography allowed in the Village.
