Scientific name: Euphonia cayennensis (JF Gmelin, 1789).
Distribution: SE Venezuela, French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam, and N Brazil.
Taxonomic Comments: Formerly placed in the Thraupidae, now mitochodrial DNA studies show that Euphonias and Chlorophonias are better placed in the Fringillidae (AOU 2003).
