A short trip to the Dubrovnik area in May.
Dubrovnik has been largely rebuilt since the 1991-95 war, indeed there is hardly an old roof to be seen in the Old Town.

I stayed at the small resort of Mlini, just to the South.

It was a short walk via Srebreno to Kupari which was formerly a prestigious resort. However, after the war, the hotels were too expensive to demolish or repair, so they have been left more or less as they were after the fighting and looting stopped (although I think they have been made "safe" for tourists to visit). It was quite eerie walking along empty corridors over broken glass with bullet holes all around.

Whilst I was there a Chinese delegation were visiting with a view to rebuilding Kupari by 2016.
