Cappadocia lies roughly between the cities of Newshevir, Avanos, Goreme and Urgup
It is a land of fairy chimneys, eroded volcanic ash capped with harder basalt.
It looks like another planet and a part of Star Wars was filmed here.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't kind. Our 2 days there were generally overcast and drizzly, although the sun did make an occasional appearance, mainly illuminating the mid-distance landscape. Photoshop has enhanced the contrast/saturation on a lot of these pix.
Photography was not allowed during the (very serene) Whirling Dervish ceremony at Saruhan.
However, the dervishes did whirl for the cameras for about 2 minutes after the ceremony had ended.
