How unusual to leave the wreckage there for so many years.... I love the scenery!

These peaceful hills, and those man-made pieces of metal once fallen from the sky: impressive, to remember forever, as long as it lasts there.

Very interresting !

Whow... shugar. And the wreckage is still visible. This is quite a memorial. You must have wandered off quite far off the beaten track to come across this memorial. 64, now 65... and it reminds us in a way as if it only happened yesterday. A striking tribute to an unusual monument...

Incredible...great shot....is it retained like this as a sort of war grave?

64 years ago, that's quite been long and that image is surely a sad memory to the family of those who were in that tragedy. Nice shot Robbie.

I am writing a book including such accidents and tragedies in the Pennines, so can I have permission to use, and where this was and any others

Amazing it's all still there after that period of time.

Wow! Moving shot! The scenery is beautiful but the lives lost is tragic. Great image! V

A beautiful scene made sombre by this evidence of tragedy. You have captured it well. It reminds me of a similar crash site I knew years ago on Kinder Scout in the Pennine Hills that moved me greatly when I happened upon it by chance while moor-walking.

It is very hard to say this is a beautiful image. And, perhaps Marita has it correct - strong. The composition is great and it is powerful and well shot.--Rene
