White Ibis

Ibis are distinguished by their long, curving (scientifically referred to as"decurved") bills which turns brilliant red during breeding season.
Though not apparent in these photos, they have beautiful blue eyes. In flight, their outstretched necks and legs, and black wing tips make them recognizable.

Ibis roost in large colonies, often with Herons and Egrets. Females squeak and males honk, but when foraging for food, they make a soft "croo, croo" sound.
