This is the famous "death mask of Agamemnon," found by Schliemann at Mycenae. It dates from around 1200 BC. Although Schliemann had no reason to attribute the mask to anyone in particular, much less Agamemnon himself, the name stuck. Like the funeral mask of Tutankhamen, the mask of Agamemnon is one of the most famous icons of the ancient world.
