LIMBURG is documented for the first time in 910 AD. The castle of Limburg next to the cathedral is built in the 13th century. In 1215,“St. George’s Cathedral” is built. Below the cathedral there is the so-called “Domschatz”(treasure of the cathedral) containing the famous “Staurothek” with the relic of the cross of the Byzantine Empire. In 1289, the oldest framework house of Limburg is built.
