“Families are Meant to be Together ( in 2018, and Always)”

“BK Foxx’s mural was inspired by political events and some challenging
situations with the property owners. After having a few drafts rejected,
BK went back to the drawing board. She was coming to Vancouver from
France where she’d been painting and staying with family during Trump’s
crack down on the border and separation of families. The combination
of her close experiences with family and the urgent need for political
advocacy inspired the mural. The boy is actually one of her family members.
