Part of the gallery: Vancouver Mural Festival
The mural on the right: “Vancouver Summer Fun” by artist Francis Tiffany.
Francis Tiffany is an acclaimed portrait artist originally from the U.K.
This mural is an example of folly art meant to ease and lift spirits. It shows
joy, happy summer days as we remember them here in Vancouver with the
painter’s girlfriend on the left.
The mural on the left: “Befriend Your Inner Demons” by artist Priscilla Yu.
Priscilla is a freelance illustrator, designer, art director and artist who paints
worlds that appear to dwell in a strange gravity. The mural here represents
life and growth, thriving and spilling from her mind. The alligator here reflects
the wild fear or inner demon-insecurity, and anxiety restricting life experiences.
The mural encourages us to get to know our inner demons to dispel their power
over us and to work on removing inner boulders that hinder our growth.
