To School or not to School?

As summer winds down, another challenge from this pandemic is on the horizon.
With school starting up, a lot of anxiety has taken hold with parents and teachers alike.
All agree that it is important for children to continue with their education
and development in a social setting, but conflicting concerns of health and safety
from the Coronavirus weighs heavy on the mind.

Are the protocols set up at school going to be effective to prevent infection and spread?
Even though the younger age group tends to have little symptoms or mild disease,
will they bring the virus home to their families and affect the more elderly and vulnerable?

If anything, this pandemic again has challenged us to handle each situation with a
balanced approach that demands continual adjustments and creativity to keep
life going while mitigating the risks.

Hope all goes well...

A fine shot of these social distancing kids! A tough decision to make as this is a time when the tykes start learning their social skills.

I’m glad my kids are grown. I would not subject them and my family to the danger. Good for you making us think! V

Schools could safely reopen if certain measures are put into place like staggering mealtimes, mask requirements, reducing class sizes, spacing desks, etc.....hope all goes well too....V

Definitely a challenge, but also a rare opportunity to address the many shortcomings in the traditional educational system. Great conceptional image, by the way!

Too bad we weren't better prepared for this new challenge. Letting our guard down over the summer with bars opening etc. has meant that the spread has not been contained as we go into the school year and that will make opening fully less likely.

Not to school. It’s not safe. It’s another beautiful addition to the series. My vote Raymond.

A really cool shot. The same situation pertains here.... and we are having a worrying rise in cases again. V

One can sense the apprehension of the children - good shot ! All very troubling - our son, a teacher, is so worried. V

Yes, indeed on everybody’s radar! The choices we
make can have everlasting effects!

Very good documentary shot. What a dilemma we have created, especially in the U.S. I was at San Diego State University this morning to pick up a book. The parking structure closest to the library usually has no spaces past nine in the morning. I counted seven cars there this morning. That means there were 493 empty spaces!

This is remarkable documentary work that does its job well.
To make people think!

intriguing and inventive image...the high angle underscores just how vulnerable the children will be in the classroom....

It is a conundrum. The odds of working well are slim I suspect.

A precarious situation for all, think the outlook is to stay home unless strict measures are taken that are effective. You raise a hot topic right now. V

I'm afraid the pandemic will spread again and we are trapped in this dilemma...V.

You bring up questions that are weighing on a lot of people now, although the administration here seems to think kids all going back to school doesn't pose a danger to anyone...

the same dilemma here....A difficult choice.V

A perfect image to illustrate the dilemma we find ourselves in. Difficult and worrying decisions for both parents and teachers. I worry for my granddaughter.
