Happy birthday Canada! You are 153 years old today.

On July 1, 1867 Canada became a new federation with its
own constitution by signing the Constitution Act-formerly
known as the British North America Act.
Confederation joined together Ontario and Quebec with
New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to form the Dominion of Canada.
Not only were these British colonies united, as Canada they
were given their own federal government to oversee all
their domestic affairs.
In other words, they no longer had to check with Britain about
how they ran their own space eh!
