i am impressed by your posts. I am now visiting Herat City, it is correct that it is a very historical place. And compared with other cities in Afghanoistan it is green and more build up...

But the fact is you all saying so much as Afghan say wow how beautiful, how noice, great, it is n=one of Afghan habbits to make from a samll case a huge case...
And beside if you love soooo much Heratjan and you cant live without the most beautiful city inthe world...why the hell you dont move back to your country and your beloved city?
I reall wonder why, and deeply i would love to get to know...why afghans living abroad durign the russian and taliban time cired and told that whenever peace comes back to my beloved country i will bethe first who returns back home...
so ia masking now where are you people...??? What happened?

I can just suppose my private opinion: you are scared to come backa and to live in more bad conditons. You get used to the west style life and cant get used back to the conservative way of living in Afghanistan, especially afghan women who pretent what kind of angels they are...but let them out to Europe, they get more bad than europe women...i knwo what i asy...coz i withness it...shameon you most afghan women living in Germany and USA. Thsi is a shame on afghan cultre and tradtions, take care of your afghan cultre and dont punish other women, coz this is the european way of live and styl but it is not your ...you just copied the better way of live for women there!

We have noticed that costumes of Afganistan Folk Dancers,in certain parts of the country,are identical with the costumes of ancient macedonians.
This could be a coincidence,and this is why we need your help.

The ancient Macedonians spoke alanguage that many atribute to the Romanian language today.
However there one thing wrong with this information:
The Romanian Language was for med berween 600 to 800 AD,as a result of interacial mixture between Tracians,Dacians and the Roman Empire.
The ancieny Macedonians spoke this language more than 7000 years ago,way before the Roman Empire existed, and they speake it inside the house even today.
The ancient macedonian language did not disappeared.
It appears today,that the ancient Macedonian language is the base of all latin languages in the world.
So please any informations about macedonians left in Afganistan will help a lot.

Herat is by far the most modern city in Afghanistan. I worked in Shindand and was pleasantly surprised when I got to Herat.

Was in Herat back in 1976. Much has changed. Much new construction and seems more orderly. What happened to the old souk (market)?
