A Photo History of East Greenwich

This gallery contains the photos that I took in 1998-99 as part of my Girl Scout Gold Award project. Originally, the photos were stored on three diskettes and accompanied a binder with the printed text. Copies of the project were given to the East Greenwich Free Library and public and private schools in East Greenwich. In 2000, I made the photos and text available on my website so that it could be accessed by more people because there were still many problems with sharing files between Apple and IBM compatible computers. I was given the Marion Fry Award, which is for historic preservation in East Greenwich for my website. I created the current edition of "A Photo History of East Greenwich" in 2009-10. The pictures are now 11 or 12 years-old. If you live in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, maybe you could make your own site about the history of the town with new pictures. That is my challenge to you.

Yes, you have the location correct Karen. I liked walking in Frenchtown Park when I lived in East Greenwich. It was a lovely path. I haven't been there in years. I wonder what it is like now.

Fabulous pics Rosanna. I hiked often by the Tillinghast Mill, behind the Recreation Department on Frenchtown, right? You are so young to have done so much. Just think what you'll have accomplished by my age.
