All my fond endearments,
all my tear filled eyes,
entangled in the play of things
with all my heartfelt sighs.
In my garden of remembrance
the ripening rosebud whirls,
it flings aside its covering cloak
revealing precious pearls.
There folded in the petals,
of the rose’s bloom
the love song of the nightingale
bedazzled by the moon.
