Throughout the ages the lives of people living in Yazd, sandwiched as it is between two deserts, has been dominated by Water.

The incredible system of Qanats (underground water channels) have for millennia directed water to where it is needed, safe from the parching sun.

The Yazd Water Museum examines the role water has played to Yazdis through the ages.
It also describes the lives of those very brave men who dug and maintained the tunnels in order to keep the city alive.
