Takht-e Soleyman

Atmospheric Takht-e Soleyman ("throne of Solomon") is a world heritage site in western Iran.
The site has nothing to do with King Solomon but was named after the Arab invasion in order to prevent it from being destroyed.
Originally the site was known as Shiz or Adur Gushnasp, which translates to the beautifully poetic "Fire of the Warrior Kings".

The Zoroastrian four elements (earth, air, water and fire), are in abundance clearly explaining its importance to successive dynasties.

The origins of the site can be traced back to the Achaemenid period, but the fire temples and other buildings date from the Sassanid kings.
What makes the site so spectacular is its location around a volcanic crater filled with aquamarine gushing water from deep below the surface.
A magical location!
