Shushtar is an ancient fortress city in Khuzestan. The Karoon river that runs through the city has been its life blood for millenia. The name means "better than Shush ", its neighbouring town.
The famous Roman built Watermills which centered on the first dam bridge in Iran (the Band-e Kaisar), have also ensured that it has been a prominent centre for agriculture during the ages.
The Karoon river is the ideal place for the Shushtaris to relax, unwind and have fun.
