The Moreno Glacier is certainly one of those awe-inspiring sights you will never forget.
The Perito Moreno Glacier is located in the Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Argentina.
Whilst most of the world's glaciers are shrinking, the Moreno Glacier is one of the few that is growing.
It is difficult to comprehend its size: The snout of the Glacier is 5 kilometres (3 mi) wide, with an average height of 74 m!

The Glacier is one of the fastest moving on the planet, and it is possible to sit and watch ice bergs carve off from the snout on a regular basis with the sound of a gun blast!

The Glacier is also famous because during the winter months the weight of the ice slowly pushes the glacier into Lake (Lago) Argentino, and in so doing separates one side of the lake from the other.
With no water outlet on the one side, the water-level on the Brazo Rico side of the lake rises as much as 30 meters above the other side.
When the pressure become too great, the water breaks through the ice barrier in spectacular fashion!
