The Totem Pole

Monument Valley, Arizona

An example of what millions of years of erosion can do to a butte.
A totem pole is a mythical marker created by northeastern tribes, normally carved out of wood.
The Yei Bi Chei (Navajo spiritual gods) formations to the left and right of The Totem,
are a formation of dancers emerging from a Hogan.
