CO. H 130th Infantry 2nd Batallion 33rd Divsion U.S. Army WW II

I've thought about posting photos of my father's military exploits for some time here, but didn't know if it was politically correct or not. There won't be any gory or distatsteful photos, just everyday military life from the Illinois National Guard Unit's activation on March 5, 1941 until my father returned home safely to his wife in October of 1945. I will eliminate most the names of my father's fellow soldiers as I do not have permission to use them, though most I'm sure have passed on by this time. CO. H 130th, 2nd Batallion 33rd Division began training at Camp Forrest, TN, my father was a mechanic and attended a Mechanic Motor School at Fort Benning, GA, the Division then moved on to Fort Lewis, WA, Camp Clipper, CA, and then the Hawaiian Islands to complete jungle training. They were then called into the South Pacific Theater of Operations and participated in numerous beach landings in New Guinea, Moritai, and participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands. He received 2 Bronze Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge and numerous Unit Citations. He returned home to Delavan, IL on Oct. 3. 1945
