It is in the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge, in Southern Louisiana on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. I captured this image in September 2010, more than 4 months after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon platform (Deepwater Horizon / BP oil spill) in the Gulf of Mexico.

The birds flying here (and other wildlife I'd seen in the region that day) gave me much hope that nature still goes on, despite the environmental hardships humans thrust upon it.
