Wow!!! restoration, both exterior and interior is almost complete. Local residents have worked for years to accomplish the restoration. Contents, some of which were donated by relatives of former lighthouse keepers who have lived here, adorn the restored interior. Established in 1895, this "Poe" style light is made of brick and is 78 feet tall. The light is located on Michigan's Upper Peninsula 16 miles east of Manistique MI in the village of Gulliver. The light was automated in 1972 and is active with a really extensive museum located in the Keepers Quarters run by the Gulliver Historical Society. We were able to bring our Motor Home pretty close to the light and there was ample room for parking and turn around. It was a long trip to get here but well worth it.
