Zion NP

The horizontal lines in this giant sand dune are caused by erosion from the wind while the vertical lines are caused by stress cracking on the dune. The structure is in excess of 2,000 feet thinck in places where it forms some of the cliffs in Zion NP on the other side. We actually drove through a tunnel to the far side of the park and noted a dramatic difference in landscape on both sides of the park
