Acrosstheforest: Interesting looking DVD. May have to order it. We talked to several people about related folktales. Yes; spent time in the Merry Cemetery and photographed headstones. Perhaps I should include a few here. I agree about the palinca, but became rather enamored of the vishinata (sweet cherry liquor). Looks like you were in the same area we visited.

Great pictures of Romania. I spent a good deal of time in Maramures shooting a documentary on the folklore of Transylvania. www.acrosstheforest.com You have to avoid the palinca if you want to get anything done in terms of work. The people are great. I was in the Iza Valley, up around Sighet and out towards Sapinta. Did you go to the Merry Cemetery?
