Hosted by the San Diego Maritime Museum this spectacular event features a fleet of 21 Tall Ships from around the world, as well as, 12 Maritime Museum ships that are on permanent display here at San Diego Bay's Embarcadero. Each of the ships are open to the public during the festival, several are offering sailing opportunites as well. The roar of cannons can be heard throughout the day as mock battles are held under full sail in the bay. The weather is some of the best we've seen this summer - excellent for sailing or strolling along the quay taking in the sites and sounds.
