As a young lad growing up,this water tower was what I would look for to let me know we were almost home after a trip away.Visible from a good 5 miles away,it was always reassuring to see. There was much debate whether to spend money on refurbishing this landmark built in 1906 or to tear it down.In the end over $1 million was spent on bringing it up to date and it is now one of only 36 functioning water towers left in Alberta.

Excellent picture of it Rick, the colors and light are outstanding and you emphasized its height very well. ~BV~

A beacon of location and memories - good to see it remain.

a nice capture and a nicer memory maintained for future generations, never know when you'll need a glass of water BV
