The Owl was quite calm, and by driving along very slowly I was able to inch the car to a position directly opposite to where it was sitting and get his shot. I inched away as it watched - probably just as bemused as when it was observing the hyperactive Phoebe (prev. photo). As I crept down the road, a pickup driving fast down the road flushed it and I couldn't see where it went. About 30 minutes later as I headed back up the beach I found it again atop the dune half way between the 3rd xover and High Pines (see next photo)
