Transient Dunlins, Black-bellied plovers et al bayside on Duxbury Beach - 2017-11-04

View looking north of bayside shoreline of Duxbury Beach from just south of the first crossover. This is a small flock (of several this day) early arrivals of migrating Dunlin - along with Black-bellied Plovers. They may be transients or ultimately part of the 1,500-3,000 birds that overwinter each year. This gallery documents the presence in this group of some smaller calidris species - likely Western and Semipalmated and possibly a White-rumped or WRSA-Dunlin hybrid.
