As I drove to scan the roped off parking area northwest of the Pavilion a flock of 100-200 shorebirds flew up from the area zooming right past me and over the car. After I parked I noticed a dark shape way down the lot and upon realizing that it was almost certainly a Peregrine, I inched the car down the road until I was opposite the bird (about 75 feet away). I was able to get several shots with the 400mm zoom -three of which are included here (heavily cropped).
The first one shows two bands though not the specific markings (note that the right leg band appears narrower than the left one). The second shows one band but more clearly, and the third shows the bird resting in an odd position (on its "elbows"). There seemed to be nothing wrong with the bird and it flew off normally chasing after a flock of shorebirds that foolishly flew low over its head.
