A handful or less of a number of species are on the Beach at the moment - either birds that didn't go north or early southbound birds. The absence of these 4 species since late May suggests that these are all migrants. This photo is fun because it has individuals from 4 species - left to right - Semipalmated Sandpiper, White-rumped Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper and a Semipalmated Plover.
